{"id":148648,"date":"2019-09-02T12:44:30","date_gmt":"2019-09-02T11:44:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=148648"},"modified":"2019-09-02T15:35:56","modified_gmt":"2019-09-02T14:35:56","slug":"lagos-ibadan-expressway-partial-closure-begins-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=148648","title":{"rendered":"Lagos-Ibadan Expressway: Partial Closure Begins Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span class=\"ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-embedded centered clearfix block-story-object block-story-object-resource block-story-object-resource-image\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-story-object-asset\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"media-element file-embedded\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Lagos-Ibadan-Expressway-Partial-Closure-Begins-Today.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-temp-aztec-id=\"7c9abc97-f0aa-4c07-a979-9a5b60ce4479\"><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"container container-pod container-pod-short\"><span class=\"adunit-parent hide block-module block-module-ad block-module-ad-300x250\"><span class=\"block-module-image-wrapper\"><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Motorists plying Lagos-Ibadan expressway have been advised to take<br \/>\nalternative routes as rehabilitation on the Berger-Ogun River section<br \/>\nof the expressway, leading a partial closure of the expressway.<\/p>\n<p>According to a traffic advisory by the Ogun State Traffic Compliance<br \/>\nand Enforcement Corps (TRACE) on Sunday, motorists were advised to<br \/>\nmake use of alternative routes.<\/p>\n<p>The alternative routes listed by the spokesman of TRACE, Babatunde<br \/>\nAkinbiyi, are Iyana Ipaja\/Ota\/Ifo\/Abeokuta\/Sagamu-Benin Ore<br \/>\nexpressway; Victoria Island\/Lekki\/Epe\/Ijebu-Ode-Benin\/Ore expressway<br \/>\nor the Ikorodu\/ Itoikin\/ Ijebu-Ode-Benin\/Ore expressway.<\/p>\n<p>Akinbiyi said: \u201cIn view of the imminent closure of inbound Lagos<br \/>\ntraffic along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway for reconstruction and<br \/>\nrehabilitation work on the 600km stretch of the corridor to be carried<br \/>\nout from Berger (New Garage Bus Stop) \u2013 Ogun River (Kara Bridge),<br \/>\nscheduled for Monday, 2nd September-Sunday, 15th December, 2019, the<br \/>\ngeneral public, particularly the motoring public, is hereby apprised<br \/>\nof the need to plan their journey, add more time to their travelling<br \/>\ntime and take necessary precaution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom Monday, 2nd September 2019, inbound traffic (movement) from Kara<br \/>\nBridge to Berger would be sealed off and diverted into the same<br \/>\ncarriageway along the expressway conveying traffic outbound Lagos,<br \/>\nthereby making both inbound and outbound traffic to be accommodated on<br \/>\nthe same section of the expressway.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Moreover, traffic will then be diverted back into the road going<br \/>\ninward Lagos at Berger intersection linking River Valley Estate, where<br \/>\nnormal journey resumes inward Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurthermore, outbound Lagos traffic would be divided into two (2)<br \/>\nlanes, both ways from the intersection linking Isheri\/Olowora Kara<br \/>\nBridge, where the road diversion ends and normalcy resumes inward<br \/>\nSagamu.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Motorists plying Lagos-Ibadan expressway have been advised to take alternative routes as rehabilitation on the Berger-Ogun River section of the expressway, leading a partial closure of the expressway.
