{"id":144831,"date":"2019-08-19T14:27:10","date_gmt":"2019-08-19T13:27:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=144831"},"modified":"2019-08-19T14:27:11","modified_gmt":"2019-08-19T13:27:11","slug":"men-in-court-over-alleged-possession-of-human-skull","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=144831","title":{"rendered":"Men in court over alleged possession of human skull"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Men-in-court-over-alleged-possession-of-human-skull.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Ogun state Police Command, on Monday, arraigned three men in an Ota Magistrates\u2019 Court in Ogun, for allegedly being in possession of a human skull.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects identified as: Sunday Mathew, 52; Olaniyi Samuel, 62; and Uchenna Olewunne, 48, whose addresses were not provided, were charged with two counts of conspiracy and unlawful possession of human skull.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecution Counsel, Sgt. Abdulkareem Mustapha told the court that the defendants and others at large, committed the offence on May 27 at about 11.30 p.m. at Oke-Ola Arayomi Area, Iju, Ota, Ogun.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the defendants were unable to explained how they got the human skull when they were caught.<\/p>\n<p>The offence, he said, contravened provisions of sections 329(1)(2) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Federation, 2004.<\/p>\n<p>After the charges were read to them, they pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Mathew Akinyemi admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N400,00 each with two sureties in like sum each.<\/p>\n<p>Akinyemi ordered that the sureties must reside within the court\u2019s jurisdiction and must be gainfully employed.<\/p>\n<p>He adjourned the case until Nov. 13 for further hearing, NAN reports.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ogun state Police Command, on Monday, arraigned three men in an Ota Magistrates\u2019 Court in Ogun, for allegedly being in possession of a human skull.
