<\/p>\nDAILY POST had reported that Arsenal have been linked with a move for Tierney and Pepe in this summer\u2019s transfer window.<\/p>\n
The Gunners have so far made three new signings: Gabriel Martinelli, Dani Ceballos and William Saliba this summer.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe worry for me has always been the defence,\u201d Parlour said on talkSPORT.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re talking about [signing] good players but we aren\u2019t talking about no defenders at the moment.<\/p>\n
\u201cDefenders is probably the key area where we are missing at the moment.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know about Koscielny\u2019s situation that has not been great for the club, him not going on tour.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is the area for me where they\u2019ve got to address big time if they\u2019re going to have any chance to get in that top four again.<\/p>\n
\u201cI really hope they get Tierney because I think he\u2019s a real quality player.<\/p>\n
\u201c[Hector] Bellerin is back on the training field now and he\u2019s kicking balls, which is great, he\u2019s really progressing well.<\/p>\n
\u201c[Rob] Holding is training so he can\u2019t be too far away but he\u2019ll need six or seven games to get back into full speed.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s an area where you\u2019re losing Koscielny. If you do lose Koscielny, he\u2019s your captain last season, a real experienced player at the back, so they need to replace him. Especially with some of the defensive performances last year, which weren\u2019t good enough.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s what let them down in the end because the goalscoring at the other end was no problem with [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang, [Alexandre] Lacazette, them sort of guys.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s one of those situations where you\u2019ve just got to wait and see what happens with the transfer window.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of frustrated fans because they looked at the transfer budget and it was only \u00a340m-50m, they thought, bit suddenly they\u2019re trying to bring in new players.<\/p>\n
