However, Odion Ighalo\u2019s early goal, ensured Gernot Rohr\u2019s men clinched bronze medal.<\/p>\n
The victory means Nigeria has never lost a third-place fixture in the history of the AFCON, winning all eight they have featured in.<\/p>\n
The three-time champions had already won bronze seven times before, three more than Ivory Coast in second place with four.<\/p>\n
Nigerians took to social media applauding and celebrating Super Eagles for winning the bronze.<\/p>\n
