Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has admitted he is delighted to finally get a win over a team coached by Alain Griesse.<\/p>\n

Nigeria beat Tunisia 1-0 in the Africa Cup of Nations third-place playoff on Wednesday night, thanks to Odion Ighalo\u2019s early strike.<\/p>\n

Rohr, who has suffered several defeats to Griesse, told a post-match conference: \u201cIt\u2019s my first medal in the AFCON and I\u2019m happy with it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have suffered some losses to Alain Griesse in the past so it is good to now win against him. I am happy that all 23 players played.\u201d<\/p>\n

The German also revealed that Ighalo suffered a knee injury towards the end of the first half.<\/p>\n

The AFCON top scorer was replaced by Victor Osimhen after the break.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are depressed with Ighalo\u2019s injury and we wanted to win the bronze medal to make him smile.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a knee injury, he was supposed to return to his Chinese club after today but he can\u2019t now,\u201d Rohr added.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
