Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has admitted that he is actively seeking a loan deal for Ethan Ampadu.<\/p>\n

The 18-year-old has made 12 appearances for the Blues\u2019 first team, having previously featured with Exeter City in League Two.<\/p>\n

But Lampard feels that a temporary spell away from Stamford Bridge would benefit both the player and Chelsea.<\/p>\n

Ampadu has not joined the first team in travelling to Yokohama, despite having played 45 minutes of the recent friendly draw with Bohemians.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are looking at the possibility of Ethan going on loan for the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI tried to sign Ethan on loan at Derby last year so I\u2019m a big fan, but with the minutes he played last year, in the interest of Ethan and of Chelsea, the idea he can play a lot of games somewhere could be good for him. That\u2019s not done yet, but we haven\u2019t brought him here while that\u2019s up in the air.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really wanted to work with Ethan this year. That\u2019s a slight disappointment, but it\u2019s to benefit of him. In midfield and defence, we have a lot of quality, so each player is a case by case,\u201d Lampard told reporters.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
