The Cross River State Police command has arrested three suspected armed robbers and cultists in Calabar, the state capital.<\/p>\n

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Miss Irene Ugbo, in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, said \u201cOn a tip off on 15\/7\/2019 at about 1721hrs, suspected armed robbers and cultists were planning to rob and use the proceed to fund reprisal attack on rivals cult.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile acting on credible information, men of Uwanse surveillance were mobilized. The hoodlums on sighting the police opened fire, police replied and three suspects were arrested.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspects were, Bassey Edem Bassey, Daniel Edim, Okon Effiong Awakeng\u201d while exhibits recovered from them include: One locally made pistol, one cartridge and one dagger.\u201d<\/p>\n
