Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has downplayed the importance of winning Sunday\u2019s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final against Algeria.<\/p>\n

The German has been trailed by speculations that he will be fired by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after the AFCON.<\/p>\n

Rohr, speaking at a pre-match conference Saturday, insisted that the most important match of his career is in the future and insisted that the players have represented Nigeria well.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been playing well. Against South Africa and Cameroon we played well and my team has represented the country well.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe most important match in my career is in the future. I\u2019ve had wonderful times in the past but we just have to enjoy every moment and live for the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rohr also spoke on the massive support for his team from the Egyptian crowd.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are brothers with Egyptians and fans will always cheer for good football.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t know why they\u2019ve supported us perhaps because of our kits and fitness. We don\u2019t know if they\u2019ll support us tomorrow but we will go in to do our best,\u201d he added.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
