<\/p>\nOlakunrin was killed by persons suspected to be herdsmen while heading to Ore junction from Akure, Ondo State, where she was attacked and shot by her attackers.<\/p>\n
Kehinde speaking to reporters in Akure said that the tragic incident occurred hours after she visited her 93-year-old father, who had not fully recovered from the death of one of his daughters.<\/p>\n
According to him, his sister could not survive the attack because she lost too much blood.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI just came back to Akure with my sister\u2019s body tonight from Ore town. She was on her way to Lagos after she left baba (Pa Rebeun Fasoranti) house Friday morning.<\/p>\n
\u201cHer vehicle was ambushed around Ore town. The gunmen started shooting at them at the Ore expressway and the driver had to quickly turn back but unknown to him there are some of them in the bush along the other side of the road.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey shot at the tyres of the SUV she was travelling in along with other persons. There were five people in the car, a driver, herself, a cook and two of her nephews.<\/p>\n
\u201cSadly, she was hit by a bullet and was rushed to a hospital but she lost too much blood and she died minutes after.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy the time the police would respond, about 30 minutes later, the gunmen had gone back into the bush. They ran after hearing the sound of the patrol van. Nobody was kidnapped inside her own vehicle.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlthough, those who were wounded were rushed to a hospital and have been checked by doctors and they are fine.\u201d<\/p>\n
DAILY POST recalls that Afenifere\u2019s spokesman, Mr. Yinka Odumakin in a statement said 58-year-old Mrs. Olakunrin was killed by persons suspected to be herdsmen while heading to Ore Junction from Akure, Ondo State, where she was attacked and shot by her attackers.<\/p>\n
