{"id":134730,"date":"2019-07-11T13:35:51","date_gmt":"2019-07-11T12:35:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=134730"},"modified":"2019-07-11T13:36:14","modified_gmt":"2019-07-11T12:36:14","slug":"efcc-arrests-30-suspected-yahoo-boys-in-ado-ekiti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=134730","title":{"rendered":"EFCC arrests 30 suspected Yahoo boys in Ado-Ekiti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/EFCC-arrested-suspected-internet-fraudsters-in-Mararaba.png\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, on Wednesday arrested 30 suspected internet fraudsters.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects were apprehended at different locations within the city of Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, during an early morning raid carried out by operatives of the anti-graft agency.<\/p>\n<p>The operation was sequel to a deluge of intelligence reports available to the Commission on their alleged fraudulent activities.<\/p>\n<p>According to the reports, many people have fallen victim to the tricks of the suspects, who exploit their dexterity on the use of the internet to allegedly commit crime.<\/p>\n<p>Ranging between the ages of 19 and 28 years, 11 of the suspects claimed to be undergraduates, while others said they are self-employed in various vocations.<\/p>\n<p>Items recovered from them included; eight exotic cars, laptops, mobile phones and several documents suspected to contain information used to access their victims.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects are already providing useful information to aid further investigations.
