Head coach of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr, has identified the Bafana Bafana of South Africa as the favourite team to win the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Egypt.<\/p>\n

Rohr explained that Stuart Baxter\u2019s side is currently the favourite side to lift this year\u2019s AFON after defeating the host nation, Egypt at the Cairo International Stadium in front of seventy-five thousand supporters.<\/p>\n

The German tactician stated this ahead of Nigeria\u2019s AFCON quarter-final tie against South Africa on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201dThey have quick strikers and wingers, they have the center-forward (Lebo Mathiba) playing in France in Strasbourg, we know him very well; they have experience in the centre defence,\u201d Rohr was quoted by Busy Buddies as saying.<\/p>\n

\u201dThey were the better team against Egypt so when you\u2019re a better team than Egypt, you are becoming the favourite of the tournament because everybody said before its Egypt the favourite number one.<\/p>\n

\u201dThey beat Egypt in Egypt so they are now the favourite number one. We are not the favourite against South Africa (because) they beat them (Egypt) in Cairo in International Stadium (in front of) seventy-five thousand people. You must be very strong to do that.<\/p>\n
