{"id":133512,"date":"2019-07-07T11:01:49","date_gmt":"2019-07-07T10:01:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=133512"},"modified":"2019-07-07T11:02:49","modified_gmt":"2019-07-07T10:02:49","slug":"nigeria-vs-cameroon-rohr-reveals-what-he-told-super-eagles-players-at-half-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=133512","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria vs Cameroon: Rohr reveals what he told Super Eagles players at half time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Nigeria-vs-Guinea-Rohr-wary-of-Syli-Stars.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has said he encouraged his team not to give up at half time, during their 3-2 win over Cameroon on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Odion Ighalo opened scoring in the 19th minute of their Round of 16 clash at the Africa Cup of Nations in Alexandria.<\/p>\n<p>The Indomitable Lions fought back to lead 2-1 before the break, thanks to goals from Stephane Bahoken and Clinton N\u2019Jie.<\/p>\n<p>However, Nigeria turned it around with two quickfire goals from Ighalo and Alex Iwobi.<\/p>\n<p>Rohr, speaking during his press conference after the game, revealed what he told his men when they were behind in the game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m happy with the victory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe conceded through a lack of concentration and at half time, we spoke about never giving up,\u201d the German said.<\/p>\n<p>Rohr also urged the Eagles to remain humble ahead of the quarter-finals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are focused on the next game and we have to recover.
