The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Monday, arraigned one Francis Trimpung before a Federal High Court Lagos, over alleged trafficking of 620 grammes of cocaine.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old, who was slammed with a count charge of drug trafficking before Justice Saliu Saidu, pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor alleged that the defendant had in his possession 620grammes of cocaine, classified as restricted narcotics by the NDLEA Act.<\/p>\n

He told the court that \u201cThe defendant was arrested by security operatives at the departure hall of the Murtala Mohammed Airport, during outward clearance of Turkish Airline passengers.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was handed him over to the NDLEA for prosecution,thereafter,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The defence counsel sought bail for his client and was granted same by Justice Saidu.<\/p>\n

The judge granted the defendant bail in the sum of N10 million with two sureties in like sum.<\/p>\n

He held that the sureties must have landed property in Lagos whose documents must be verified by the court\u2019s registrar.<\/p>\n

NDLEA said the offence of drug trafficking contravenes provisions of section 11 (c) of the NDLEA Act. Cap N30 Laws of the Federation 2004.<\/p>\n
