<\/p>\nThe African Par Excellence Award had, over the years, recognised and appreciated Africans and Nigerians. Ibrahim\u2019s award was in recognition of the DG\u2019s boisterous efforts invested in making Nigeria in particular, and Africa as a whole, a better place.<\/p>\n
The DG\u2019s leadership in NITDA brought about a paradigm shift and an unprecedented achievement in the in the history of Nigeria\u2019s IT sector.<\/p>\n
Some of these laudable achievements that gave precedence to this award include:<\/p>\n
1. Activation of NITDA\u2019s IT Clearing House status that focused on, among others, to ensure efficient utilization of public resources, to prevent duplication or superfluous projects, development of local content and to ensure shared services are used where possible as well as prevention of failed IT projects while encouraging better project outcomes. The process captured over 750 IT-specific projects of Federal Government and resulted in a saving of over 16 Billion Naira in compliance with the process.<\/p>\n
2. Enforcement of NITDA\u2019s Guidelines on Local Content Development as well as Presidential Executive Orders 003 and 005 that resulted in an an unprecedented increase in the patronage of locally assembled devices as well as IT Service Providers.<\/p>\n
3. Creation of business-friendly regulations that facilitated the establishment of AfriOne as an Indigenous IT company and an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) in 2017. Few others are in the final stages of registration.<\/p>\n
4. Enforcement of the Data Localisation Regulation that resulted in the repatriation of substantial data assets of the Federal Government previously hosted outside Nigeri.<\/p>\n
5. Strategic capacity building initiatives that resulted in the empowerment of Civil and Public Servants, Artisans, Women, unemployed Youth and People Living with Disabilities.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
