Former England international, Stan Collymore, has backed Manchester United\u2019s executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, to sign Chelsea\u2019s N\u2019Golo Kante and West Ham\u2019s Declan Rice in order to keep midfielder, Paul Pogba, at Old Trafford next season.<\/p>\n

Pogba is set to leave Man United in this summer\u2019s transfer window after he told reporters in Tokyo, Japan last Sunday that he wants \u201ca new challenge\u201d.<\/p>\n

But Collymore believes the only way Ed Woodward can keep the France World Cup winner at the club next season was to land Kante and Rice this summer in order to bring out the best from the 26-year-old.<\/p>\n

Writing in his Sunday Mirror column, Collymore said: \u201cUnited have also let Pogba down by \u00adfailing to sign the player or players who\u2019d bring out the best in him.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause if he is to become the next outstanding footballer, which he has the ability to do, then he has to have someone of [Didier] Deschamps\u2019 ilk alongside him at club level.<\/p>\n

\u201cEd Woodward clearly doesn\u2019t want to allow Pogba \u2013 the jewel in his crown \u2013 to leave United this summer and we will have to wait and see if Real Madrid or Juventus can match the minimum \u00a3150million United would want.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, if he does end up staying, United ought to be trying to sign two players to set him free.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be hard to get [N\u2019Golo] Kante out of Chelsea or Declan Rice out of West Ham, but that doesn\u2019t mean United shouldn\u2019t try for both. With those two alongside Pogba, United\u2019s midfield would look a lot more like a United midfield should look.\u201d\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
