{"id":128895,"date":"2019-06-21T18:35:46","date_gmt":"2019-06-21T17:35:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=128895"},"modified":"2019-06-21T18:36:13","modified_gmt":"2019-06-21T17:36:13","slug":"afcon-2019-salah-tipped-to-win-ballon-dor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=128895","title":{"rendered":"AFCON 2019: Salah tipped to win Ballon D&#8217;Or"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/AFCON-2019-Salah-tipped-to-win-Ballon-DOr.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Head coach of Egypt national team, Javier Aguirre, has said star man Mohammed Salah can win the Ballon D\u2019Or prize, if he leads his country to winning the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.<\/p>\n<p>Salah comes into the tournament, after a league campaign that saw him win the Champions League with Liverpool.<\/p>\n<p>He will be expected to pull strings, as seven-time champions Egypt kick off their campaign on Friday against Group A opponents Zimbabwe in Cairo.<\/p>\n<p>Aguirre believes there is added incentive for Salah to impress on home soil.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s helped me with the group since the beginning; he\u2019s a kind of leader.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really happy with him because he had an extraordinary season with his club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I say, \u2018OK Mohamed, if you\u2019re able to help us win the African Cup, for sure you\u2019re going to be in the last three or four for the Ballon d\u2019Or\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a very nice guy, a humble guy. He\u2019s sincere, he jokes with everybody.
