Senator Kabir Gaya representing Kano South Senatorial district has insisted that he would face the frontline contestant, Omo-Agege and others in Tuesday\u2019s election of principal officers of the 9th Senate.<\/p>\n

Gaya who comes from the Northwest has repeatedly insisted that, \u201cit does not matter whether he comes from the same zone with President Muhammadu Buhari,\u201d saying that he is entitled to vote and be voted for.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Senate President of the 9th Assembly is believed to have been micro zoned to the South-South, but have Senators Ovie Omo-Agege and Senator Francis Alimekhena in the race as well as a first timer Senator-elect, Orji Uzor Kalu from Abia State.<\/p>\n

Against that backdrop, Gaya believes that tomorrow\u2019s election would be rancour-free particularly on the mode of elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhatever method of election tomorrow, I assure you that it will be rancour-free. Open or secret ballot, our leader has been chosen, but for the DSP, I will contest against anybody tomorrow\u201d, Gaya said.<\/p>\n

Ahead of tomorrow\u2019s election, the National Assembly has been a beehive of activities for elected lawmakers, journalists and staff who are making themselves available for accreditation.<\/p>\n
