{"id":124688,"date":"2019-06-08T17:48:26","date_gmt":"2019-06-08T16:48:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=124688"},"modified":"2019-06-08T17:49:32","modified_gmt":"2019-06-08T16:49:32","slug":"i-have-lost-weight-since-i-became-lagos-governor-sanwo-olu-laments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=124688","title":{"rendered":"I Have Lost Weight Since I Became Lagos Governor, Sanwo-Olu Laments"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span class=\"ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-embedded centered clearfix block-story-object block-story-object-resource block-story-object-resource-image\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-story-object-asset\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"media-element file-embedded\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/I-Have-Lost-Weight-Since-I-Became-Lagos-Governor-Sanwo-Olu-Laments.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"container container-pod container-pod-short\"><span class=\"adunit-parent hide block-module block-module-ad block-module-ad-300x250\"><span class=\"block-module-image-wrapper\"><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The new Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said he had lost weight n the last couple of days since he assumed office and he is grappling with the strains of running the state.<\/p>\n<p>Last May, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari had described the then-Acting Inspector-General of Police as hard-working because he had lost weight due to his drive to curtail insecurity in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with State House correspondents at the Presidential Villla, Abuja on Friday, Sanwo-Olu confessed that the demand and responsibility that comes with the office had made him to lose weight.<\/p>\n<p>The governor said: \u201cI dare say that I have lost weight and probably I will lose a little bit more but I think it\u2019s what the job entails and is to also ensure that you have the right team of people that would also support you.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo when as a leader, you show that leadership support, then the message itself will trickle down and trickle down very well and that is why we have to take that very bold idea and you\u2019re going to see a lot.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the Apapa gridlock, he said, \u201cIt\u2019s a work in progress. If you go to Lagos now, you will see that they have started clearing it. So for us, it\u2019s not just to do it but to ensure that we sustain it. So sustainability is critical.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s to build a model where it\u2019s sustainable and we are not also involving the big players we are also discussing with them \u2013 the shippers council, the shipping lines, NPA, NIMASA and all of them that are stakeholders in the conversations around port utility, we are settling it.&#8221;<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The new Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said he had lost weight n the last couple of days since he assumed office and he is grappling with the strains of running the state.
