Pope Francis on Tuesday reiterated that his time at the helm of affairs in the Roman Catholic Church will be short.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still have the same feeling,\u2019\u2019 Francis said during an interview with veteran Vatican journalist, Valentina Alazraki, who, according to NAN, works for Mexican broadcaster Televisa.<\/p>\n

She reminded the Pope that in a previous 2015 interview, Francis had said: \u201cI have the feeling that my pontificate will be short. Four or five years, or maybe two or three.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

In her latest conversation with the pontiff, Alazraki noted that \u201csix years have already passed since Francis\u2019 election in March 2013, which is not such a short time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Francis replied that he did not see his pontificate lasting as long as 20 years.<\/p>\n

The 82-year-old pope had said in the past that the decision by his predecessor, Benedict XVI, to quit due to the strains of old age \u201copened a door\u2019\u2019 to future papal resignations.<\/p>\n

In 2014, returning from a trip to South Korea, Francis also hinted at his possible death: \u201cI know this will last a short time, two or three years, and then to the house of the Father.\u2019\u2019\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
