<\/p>\nDAILY POST had reported that Malam Garba Shehu, the President\u2019s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, in a statement in Abuja on Friday, stated that \u201cMiyetti Allah should be respected\u201d.<\/p>\n
Shehu was reacting to comments credited to Ohaneze Ndigbo and Afenifere, who expressed concern about the meeting between the government and Miyetti Allah.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cWe are pleased that Afenifere and Ohaneze Ndigbo found our insights worthy of attention even when they disagreed with our view that they, as socio-cultural associations, represent same interests as Miyetti Allah, an association of Fulani herders.<\/p>\n
\u201cMiyetti Allah, like any other trade, community, ethnic organization or interest group is a legal stake holder in our nation and should be respected.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe maintain that the government needs to engage all stakeholders and seek partnership in building our country.<\/p>\n
\u201dThe activities of Miyetti Allah do not benefit selected ethnicities or Muslims only, but everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reacting, Fani-Kayode said \u201cMiyetti Allah are worthy of our hatred, contempt, disdain and not our respect.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a tweet on Saturday, Fani-Kayode wrote: \u201cMiyetti Allah should be respected\u201d- Presidency.<\/p>\n
\u201cMiyetti Allah and their Janjaweed ISWA Fulani herdsmen have shed more innocent blood than any other terrorist org. in the last 4 years including Boko Haram.<\/p>\n
