{"id":115938,"date":"2019-05-10T21:21:10","date_gmt":"2019-05-10T20:21:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=115938"},"modified":"2019-05-10T21:41:39","modified_gmt":"2019-05-10T20:41:39","slug":"windstorm-kills-3-destroys-200-houses-in-bauchi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=115938","title":{"rendered":"Windstorm kills 3, destroys 200 houses in Bauchi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Windstorm-kills-3-destroys-200-houses-in-Bauchi.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Three people have died and 200 houses destroyed, following a rainstorm in Misau Town in Bauchi State.<\/p>\n<p>The Information Officer of the Misau Local Government Council, Mr Usman Yerima, confirmed the development on Friday in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).<\/p>\n<p>Yerima disclosed that the victims, included two men and a teenage girl, while 200 houses were destroyed during the fierce windstorm that was proceeded by heavy downpour.<\/p>\n<p>He said that most of the affected houses had their roofs blown off during the rain which lasted for over four hours.<\/p>\n<p>When contacted, the Director of Relief and Rehabilitation, Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf-Kobi, said that he was yet to get official reports from authorities of the council.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have heard of it and seen it on social media but we are yet to receive official report on the magnitude of the disaster.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will give you the exact situation reports by Tuesday when I might have returned from my official trip because we want to have the reports first,\u201d Yusuf-Kobi said.\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three people have died and 200 houses destroyed, following a rainstorm in Misau Town in Bauchi State.
