<\/p>\nMeghan, the wife of Prince Harry, gave birth to a baby boy, Archie, in the early hours of Monday.<\/p>\n
It is the first mixed-race child to be born into the top hierarchy of British royalty in recent history.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust got fired,\u201d Baker, the broadcaster with BBC Radio 5Live, said on Twitter.<\/p>\n
Confirming Baker\u2019s sack, a BBC spokesperson said: \u201cThis was a serious error of judgment.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 61-year-old 5Live presenter was accused of mocking the duchess\u2019 racial heritage.<\/p>\n
The corporation added that Baker\u2019s tweet \u201cgoes against the values we as a station aim to embody.<\/p>\n
\u201cDanny is a brilliant broadcaster, but will no longer be presenting a weekly show with us.\u201d<\/p>\n
After an initial backlash on social media, Baker added, \u201cSorry my gag pic of the little fella in the posh outfit has whipped some up. Never occurred to me because, well, mind not diseased.<\/p>\n
\u201cSoon as those good enough to point out its possible connotations got in touch, down it came; and that\u2019s it.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
