{"id":115054,"date":"2019-05-08T18:20:49","date_gmt":"2019-05-08T17:20:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=115054"},"modified":"2019-05-08T18:21:08","modified_gmt":"2019-05-08T17:21:08","slug":"epl-fifa-rejects-chelseas-appeal-against-transfer-ban","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=115054","title":{"rendered":"EPL: FIFA rejects Chelsea&#8217;s appeal against transfer ban"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/FIFA-bans-eight-players-for-life.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">FIFA have rejected Chelsea\u2019s appeal against a two-window transfer ban, Sky Sports reports.<\/p>\n<p>The world football governing body has upheld the ban they handed Chelsea in February, after an investigation into the club\u2019s signing of foreign U-18 players.<\/p>\n<p>The rules state that no player under 18 is allowed to move to a club in a different country, unless their parents are moving there for non-footballing reasons, or unless they are aged 16-18 and moving within the EU.<\/p>\n<p>As it stands, Chelsea can still buy players, but would not be able to register them until the summer of 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Christian Pulisic will not be affected, as he was registered by the Blues in January and loaned back to Borussia Dortmund.<\/p>\n<p>But permanent moves for loan signings Mateo Kovacic and Gonzalo Higuain, are not possible at this stage.<\/p>\n<p>The club have the option to go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), to see if the ruling can be overturned or frozen.<\/p>\n<p>The transfer window re-opens at midnight Thursday, May 16.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FIFA have rejected Chelsea\u2019s appeal against a two-window transfer ban, Sky Sports reports.
