{"id":115031,"date":"2019-05-08T18:14:08","date_gmt":"2019-05-08T17:14:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=115031"},"modified":"2019-05-08T18:14:26","modified_gmt":"2019-05-08T17:14:26","slug":"ebonyi-permanent-secretary-hopefuls-fail-to-recite-national-anthem-state-and-capital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=115031","title":{"rendered":"Ebonyi Permanent Secretary Hopefuls Fail To Recite National Anthem, State And Capital"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span class=\"ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-embedded centered clearfix block-story-object block-story-object-resource block-story-object-resource-image\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-story-object-asset\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"media-element file-embedded\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Ebonyi-Permanent-Secretary-Hopefuls-Fail-To-Recite-National-Anthem-State-And-Capital.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"container container-pod container-pod-short\"><span class=\"adunit-parent hide block-module block-module-ad block-module-ad-300x250\"><span class=\"block-module-image-wrapper\"><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Several permanent secretary hopefuls in Ebonyi failed to recite the national anthem and questions about the capital of states in an interview session on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>NAN reports that the oral interview, which came after a written test was supervised by David Umahi, Ebonyi governor and his deputy, Kelechi Igwe, who was the chairman of the interview committee.<\/p>\n<p>The interview session was televised live by the state\u2019s television network.<\/p>\n<p>Two of the permanent secretary hopefuls, who are top civil servants, failed to recite the national anthem while another two could not recite the states in Nigeria and their capitals.<\/p>\n<p>A particular candidate said that the capital of Kwara is Kwara and that capital of Lagos is Lagos while another said that the Anambra capital is Anambra.<\/p>\n<p>An amused Umahi jokingly told one of the interviewees to ask her children at home to teach her how to recite the states and their capitals.<\/p>\n<p>The governor noted that two persons each from the 13 local government areas of the state were selected, making them 26, including three serving permanent secretaries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe appointment of new permanent secretaries will be based on their performances in the exercise as my administration is poised toward reforming the state\u2019s civil service.<\/p>\n<p>He noted, however, that only intelligent and resourceful candidates would be selected to assist in repositioning the civil service.<\/p>\n<p>The Ebonyi civil service had been run without permanent secretaries since the inception of the Umahi administration and the development had elicited diverse speculations, especially from opposition parties in the state.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Several permanent secretary hopefuls in Ebonyi failed to recite the national anthem and questions about the capital of states in an interview session on Tuesday.
