{"id":111788,"date":"2019-04-28T22:10:57","date_gmt":"2019-04-28T21:10:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=111788"},"modified":"2019-04-28T22:11:44","modified_gmt":"2019-04-28T21:11:44","slug":"apc-sweeps-zamfara-lg-polls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=111788","title":{"rendered":"APC sweeps Zamfara LG polls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/NASS-leadership-Expect-chaos-over-choice-of-Lawan-Gbajabiamila-APC-youths-warn.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZSIEC) has declared candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winners of the Local Government Council election held in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The News Agency of Nigeria reports that 42 political parties participated in the polls, but the major opposition political parties in the state boycotted the elections.<\/p>\n<p>NAN recalls that some political parties in the state, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord Party, had last week filed a case at the state High Court in Gusau, challenging the State Independent Electoral Commission over failure to serve election notice to political parties in the state.<\/p>\n<p>But declaring the result, the Executive Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Garba Muhammad, said: \u201cIn accordance with the Law of the Commission No 4 2012 as ammended, I, Garba Muhammad as the Chief Returning of the LG election in Zamfara, hereby announce the results of the 14 local government elections conducted by the commission on Saturday, April 27, 2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Muhammad said 147 candidates of the councillorship positions and 28 chairmanship and vice chairmanship candidates of the APC also won the elections in all the 14 local government areas of the state.<br \/>\nHe listed the winners of Chairmanship positions of the 14 local government areas as follows:<br \/>\n1. Anka \u2013 Ahmad Balarabe with 38,698 votes<br \/>\n2. Birnin\/Magaji \u2013 Muhammad Umar \u2013 67,002 votes<br \/>\n3. Bungudu \u2013 Abdul\u2019aziz Ahmad \u2013 75,219 votes,<br \/>\n4. Bakura \u2013 Dandare Dandako \u2013 65,060 votes<br \/>\n5. Bukkuyum \u2013 Nasiru Zarumi \u2013 64,049 votes<br \/>\n6. Gummi \u2013 Kabiru S-Aski \u2013 53,668 votes<br \/>\n7. Gusau \u2013 Alhaji Babangida \u2013 115,142 votes<br \/>\n8. Kaura\/Namoda \u2013 Lawal Abdullahi \u2013 62,051 votes.<br \/>\n9. Maradun \u2013 Ahmad Abubakar \u2013 50,812 votes<br \/>\n10. Maru \u2013 Salisu Isah \u2013 75,274 votes<br \/>\n11. Shinkafi \u2013 Sani Galadi \u2013 48,469 votes<br \/>\n12. Talata-Mafara \u2013 Lawal Marafa \u2013 70,625 votes<br \/>\n13. Tsafe \u2013 Aminu Mudi \u2013 74,521 votes<br \/>\n14.
