{"id":110937,"date":"2019-04-26T10:03:25","date_gmt":"2019-04-26T09:03:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=110937"},"modified":"2019-04-26T10:03:44","modified_gmt":"2019-04-26T09:03:44","slug":"government-promises-full-implementation-of-new-minimum-wage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=110937","title":{"rendered":"Government promises full implementation of new minimum wage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/FG-appoints-new-MD-for-Neuropsychiatric-hospital-Enugu.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Enugu State Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Chief Charles Asogwa, says the state will be among the first to implement the New National Minimum Wage as signed by President Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n<p>Asogwa disclosed this on Thursday in Enugu during the State Delegates\u2019 Conference of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.<\/p>\n<p>The commissioner said that the state government was awaiting the drop-down of the modalities for implementation which included the payment table.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are aware that President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the New National Minimum Wage Law and Enugu State will be among the first to implement it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are waiting for the modalities of the payment to come down,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Asogwa commended members of the congress for the conviviality between them and the state government.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the prevailing circumstance was instrumental to the excellent performance of the state government, noting that \u201cpeace and harmony bring progress\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Asogwa said that the state government would continue to make payment of salaries first charge, while continuing in its drive to offset the arrears of pension and gratuities owed retirees.\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Enugu State Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Chief Charles Asogwa, says the state will be among the first to implement the New National Minimum Wage as signed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
