{"id":110250,"date":"2019-04-24T10:15:42","date_gmt":"2019-04-24T09:15:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=110250"},"modified":"2019-04-24T10:16:21","modified_gmt":"2019-04-24T09:16:21","slug":"jigawa-centenarian-speaks-on-controversies-over-atikus-nationality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=110250","title":{"rendered":"Jigawa Centenarian speaks on controversies over Atiku&#8217;s nationality"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Jigawa-Centenarian-speaks-on-controversies-over-Atikus-nationality.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">A Centenarian from Dutse Emirate Council in Jigawa State, Isyaku Adamu has reacted to the controversy surrounding the nationality of Atiku Abubakar, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate.<\/p>\n<p>Adamu disclosed that the Waziri Abubakar\u2019s mother was from Jigawa State.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing reporters on Tuesday in his community, the official of the Dutse Emirate said Abubakar\u2019s mother, Aisha, popularly called \u2018Kande Yar-Malam\u2019, who is from Jigawa State married Abubakar\u2019s father after her first marriage crashed.<\/p>\n<p>The chief disclosed that the father of the former Vice President, Garba was a student coming from Sokoto to Dutse in search of Islamic knowledge when he met and later married Kande.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Centenarian: \u201cHe settled at our house, popularly called \u2018Gidan Malamai\u2019 (Scholars\u2019 House). There, he met and married Kande and took her to present day Adamawa State where Mr Abubakar was born.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr Abubakar\u2019s mother, Kande, was junior to Alhaji Ali and Azumi; they are all late now. Kande was our daughter and Mr Abubakar is our grandson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are all Fulani by tribe; our forefathers are scholars here in Dutse, that\u2019s why our home is called Gidan Malamai.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is coming at a time the PDP presidential candidate responded to claim by the All Progressives Congress, APC, that he was not a Nigerian.<\/p>\n<p>Abubakar had insisted that he was born and raised a Nigerian, hence has the conditional right to contest for the presidency.\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Centenarian from Dutse Emirate Council in Jigawa State, Isyaku Adamu has reacted to the controversy surrounding the nationality of Atiku Abubakar, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate.
