{"id":107392,"date":"2019-04-15T16:15:42","date_gmt":"2019-04-15T15:15:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=107392"},"modified":"2019-04-15T16:16:43","modified_gmt":"2019-04-15T15:16:43","slug":"fuel-scarcity-dpr-blows-hot-over-hoarding-diversion-of-petrol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=107392","title":{"rendered":"Fuel scarcity: DPR blows hot over hoarding, diversion of petrol"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Fuel-scarcity-DPR-blows-hot-over-hoarding-diversion-of-petrol.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Ibadan Field Office of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has restated its commitment to check the ongoing hoarding and diversion of petroleum products.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Oluyemi Olaonipekun, Controller Operations, DPR Ibadan Field Office, told newsmen in Ibadan on Monday that the office would continue to intensify its surveillance on illegal petroleum activities.<\/p>\n<p>Olaonipekun said that DPR recently sealed five petrol stations suspected to be hoarding the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe noticed that there ought not to be scarcity, especially with quantity of products being pushed out, so we intensified surveillance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe suspected that the stations were hoarding products, they refused to sell, and refused our efforts to dip into their tanks,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Olaonipekun stated that DPR would ensure that petroleum products distributed to stations were sold to members of the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cApart from ensuring that hoarding does not work, we shall ensure that sharp practices such as pump adjustment are stamped out,\u201d he said.\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ibadan Field Office of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has restated its commitment to check the ongoing hoarding and diversion of petroleum products.
