{"id":106841,"date":"2019-04-13T13:32:37","date_gmt":"2019-04-13T12:32:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=106841"},"modified":"2019-04-13T17:05:56","modified_gmt":"2019-04-13T16:05:56","slug":"if-buhari-offers-me-political-appointment-ill-reflect-on-it-says-moghalu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=106841","title":{"rendered":"If Buhari Offers Me Political Appointment, I&#8217;ll Reflect On It, Says Moghalu"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span class=\"ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-embedded centered clearfix block-story-object block-story-object-resource block-story-object-resource-image\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-story-object-asset\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"media-element file-embedded\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/If-Buhari-Offers-Me-Political-Appointment-Ill-Reflect-On-It-Says-Moghalu.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"container container-pod container-pod-short\"><span class=\"adunit-parent hide block-module block-module-ad block-module-ad-300x250\"><span class=\"block-module-image-wrapper\"><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Kingsley Moghalu, presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the 2019 presidential election in Nigeria, says if he is offered a political appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari, he would reflect on it before taking a decision.<\/p>\n<p>He has, however, announced his withdrawal from partisan politics.<\/p>\n<p>Moghalu stated this in a chat with Arise News TV in Abuja, Nigeria\u2019s capital, on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Disclosing his next move, he said he was now going to dedicate his time to a citizens\u2019 movement called To Build A Nation (TBAN), which seeks to help in the development of Nigeria\u2019s electoral process.<\/p>\n<p>The former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said: \u201cI\u2019ve decided to pretty much withdraw from partisan engagement at this time; the elections are over.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re engaging on a non-partisan basis to a platform called To Build A Nation (TBAN), a citizens\u2019 movement that will campaign for electoral reform and engage in voter education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose are the two things this democracy needs if it is to survive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked if he would accept a political appointment in President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s administration, he said: \u201cIf such an appointment is offered, then you reflect on it and make a decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The YPP Presidential candidate, endorsed by Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka in the build-up to the 2019 presidential election, came 14th with a total of 21,886 votes in the February 23 presidential election. <\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kingsley Moghalu, presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the 2019 presidential election in Nigeria, says if he is offered a political appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari, he would reflect on it before taking a decision.
