Ex-Niger Assembly Speaker, Isa kawu dumps PDP

A former Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Isa Kawu, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, where he was a member for nearly 20 years.

This came barely three weeks after he made his intention to vie for the governorship of Niger State in what he termed ‘Rescue Mission to Change the Development Narrative of Niger.’

“I have withdrawn my membership of the PDP indefinitely,” Kawu told the Daily Trust in an interview yesterday.

He was, however, silent on the alternative platform he would join ahead of 2019 elections.

“I will make my decision known in due course; but definitely not APC,” he said.

The former speaker said judging by wide range of public assessment, the PDP had lost its goodwill overtime, especially in Niger State.
