Ekiti Election: What Governors told Fayose, Fayemi

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has wished the outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, luck in his new endeavour.

The forum said this in a congratulatory message to Kayode Fayemi, winner of the state gubernatorial election that was held last Saturday.

Fayemi defeated Kolapo Olusola, deputy governor of the state, who contested the election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Abdulaziz Yari, Governor of Zamfara who also serves as the NGF chairman said “elections are usually healthy contests that determine who keeps the mantle of leadership in the state for a certain period of time and not a victor and vanquished affair.

“The NGF chairman, while wishing the out-going governor of Ekiti State Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose, luck in his new endeavour and stating that the NGF would miss his invaluable contributions at its meetings, also welcomes the in-coming governor to the forum to which he is returning as a ranking and experienced member.”

Yari also welcomed Fayemi, adding that he hopes the Governor-elect would join hands with the other Governors in the country, to strengthen the NGF and add value to their deliberations at their monthly meetings.
