Champions League: What Cristiano Ronaldo told mother after Ajax defeated Juventus 2-1

Maria Dolores Aveiro, the mother to Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has revealed what her son told her after Max Allegri’s side crashed out of the Champions League to Ajax on Tuesday night.

Ajax defeated the Italian giants 2-1 away in Turin and ended the Serie A team’s dreams of winning the Champions League in Ronaldo’s first season at the club.

Ajax’s 19-year-old captain Matthijs de Ligt scored from a header from the corner in the 67th minute to give the Dutch side a 3-2 aggregate win.

Maria Dolores Aveiro said Ronaldo told her that he doesn’t work “miracles” after Juventus’ defeat to Ajax, adding that the former Real Madrid star wanted to play in the Champions League final this season.

“He [Ronaldo] was sad, he wanted to go to the final,” Maria Dolores Aveiro was quoted by A Bola as saying.

“He will try for the next one.

“What did he say to me? ‘Mum, I don’t work miracles…’”

Juventus will now tackle Fiorentina in their next fixture in the Serie A on Saturday.
