Buhari appoints Banire as AMCON chairman, 13 others for FCSC

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Muiz Banire, as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

Banire is a former legal adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He fell out with the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, before the last National Convention of the party that produced new national officers.

Banire’s appointment is subject to the confirmation by the Senate.

The President also appointed the chairman and 12 commissioners of the Federal Civil Service Commission.

President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, at the plenary on Tuesday, read Buhari’s letters to the legislature in which he sought the approval of the chamber.
