The deal includes a £48.5million option for Atletico to buy the 26-year-old.

Morata will remain at the Spanish club until the end of the 2019/20 season.

Speaking on his move, Morata told the club’s official website: “I’m very happy and proud to be here.

“I can’t wait to start training, meet my new teammates and play”.

Morata could make his debut against Real Betis next Sunday in the La Liga fixture.
