AFCON 2019: What Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah did after South Africa eliminated Egypt [PHOTOS]

Egypt superstar, Mohamed Salah, looked dejected and shed tears on Saturday night as he watched South Africa players celebrate their qualification for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, quarter-final.

The camera turned to Salah who was left heartbroken as the Pharaohs suffered a shock AFCON exit against the Bafana Bafana.

The former Chelsea and AS Roman star was seen crying after the match.

Salah will now take an end-of-season break before returning to Liverpool for the 2019-20 campaign.

Egypt were considered favourites against South Africa ahead of the encounter but things certainly did not go as planned for the hosts.

Thembinkosi Lorch’s late strike ensured the 2010 World Cup hosts defeated Aguirre’s men at the round of 16 encounter.

South Africa will now tackle Nigeria in the quarter-final fixture on July 10.
